About the Kypreos familySince three generations ago, almost 200 years, Kypreos family, was and still is ahead in the natural sponges market.
The grandfather, Kypreos Sotiris, had left from Simi and came to Kalymnos, in the beginning of 1900.
Simi, together with Kalymnos and Hydra, were the islands that had the best sponge divers all over the world. In 1930, his son, Konstantinos, emigrates to Paris, where he continued the tradition of his family and he was selling sponges from the small island of Dodekanese, Kalymnos.
